XOLAIR

Xolair is an injection given to children over the age of twelve that have moderate to severe persistant asthma whose symptoms are poorly controlled with inhaled corticosteroids. It is administered according to the weight of the patient and it may be given either every 2 weeks or once a month depending on the recommended dosage.

Once your physician prescribes Xolair an authorization request will be forwarded to your insurance carrier. Please keep in mind some insurance companies take a few weeks to respond.

In order to determine if a patient is eligible to receive Xolair therapy they should have allergy testing and bloodwork to check their IgE level.
